It would make sense to give Kevin Durant another shot at it, but a picture of Kyrie Irving playing the game was posted on twitter. oh and there's that Jeremy Lin guy.
purely speculation so far, but we are 7-8 months away so the cover should be revealed some time in the near future

Jere-who?
Blake Griffin needs to be the obvious choice. He was on the last college game. It's fitting to put him on the new pro game.
Fri Feb 24, 2012 11:36 am
They are probably going to give it back to Durant, he deserves to have a game released rather than a cancelled game.
To squash Kyrie rumors, Wall and Rubio played the game today too
Fri Feb 24, 2012 12:58 pm
Durant is definitely the best choice in my opinion. Maybe give Blake Griffin a chance next year.
Fri Feb 24, 2012 1:10 pm
yeah durant's gonna be a good choice.....blake comes in second....steve novak third...
Fri Feb 24, 2012 1:32 pm
What about a mixed cover of KD, Griffin, Irving, Wall and Rubio like this?

If not KD should be on it.
Fri Feb 24, 2012 2:49 pm
EA do it with the FIFA games so why not. Maybe Durant, Harden and Westbrook.
Fri Feb 24, 2012 2:55 pm
I know FIFA does it but I think it would be better if the five were in the same photo, it would look more organic and better that copy pasting separate images into one cover.
Fri Feb 24, 2012 3:54 pm
they do it for Fifa like they used to do for Live with the different covers: Parker in France, Gasol in Spain, etc. in the US version of Fifa, Donovan was on it last year for 11 and is on it this year

I was going to say they should put those Nets on the cover but then I realized that wasn't the SLAM Nets love fest cover I was thinking of. It was this one:

I think KD seems like the obvious choice here.
Fri Feb 24, 2012 5:09 pm
I'll give it to Durant.
Fri Feb 24, 2012 7:24 pm
I'd agree that Durant seems to be the frontrunner. He's got even more name recognition now, he's firmly established as a star in the league on an up and coming team that may well come out of the West this year, and it'd be a nice gesture given what happened with NBA Elite 11. If not Durant, then Blake Griffin seems like a good pick for the reasons that Pat mentioned.

I remember that. SLAM sure loves their bold predictions.

No doubt about it Durant should be the cover boy or Rose maybe.

Pick anybody. Forget Durant. I respect the man and his game but he's just an unlucky choice for a cover athlete imo. Sounds superstitious but really it's serious
Pick him and it will be another disaster dismissed game like NBA Elite 11. I was one of those against that pointless 'ELITE' name change. Glad they go back to the original "NBA Live" name. Again, pick any player for a cover athlete. Do not choose Kevin Durant. Just don't do it. Or else.

Durant Deserves This Cover point blank period. But..If not Durant then go with D-Rose or Chris Paul.
Sun Feb 26, 2012 3:10 am
I'm down with KD, BG, or D-Rose, all are top canidates.
Sun Feb 26, 2012 4:24 am
Blake Griffin or D-Rose prob
Sun Feb 26, 2012 8:36 am
Since they said. Live 13 is going to be 'the future of basketball', I think a young player would be logical, like Kyrie Irving and John Wall or even Kevin Durant. Rose is a 2k guy, I don't think he's an option. I'd give Durant another shot, since Elite was canceled.
My gut tells me it's going to be LeBron, since the silhouette of the player in the artwork looks like him and he hasn't been on any cover so far IIRC
Tue Feb 28, 2012 2:50 am
KD should be there
Thu Mar 01, 2012 9:54 pm
KD deserves to have a game released. It was unlucky for him to cover a non-released game...
Sat Mar 03, 2012 4:48 am
KYRIE IRVING OR KEVIN DURANT. THAT'S IT.
Sun Mar 04, 2012 6:10 am
I don't see Irving or Wall making it. Usually a superstar makes the cover, and calling either of them a superstar would be far from correct.

Most cases it isn't a superstar that makes the cover. Antoine Walker was in the cover once. Heck, even a guy that doesn't have an NBA contract made it in the cover.

Who was he?
Then KD can do that. Or Derrick.
