Yeah, I'd say the only detail that isn't fake, is LeBron being on the cover. I really just cannot see anyone else on it...

Yeah, the more I look at it, the more unlikely it seems that EA would opt for such a drastic change in style. The covers of NBA Live 10 and NCAA Basketball 10 were a little different, but Dwight Howard and Blake Griffin were still instantly recognisable.

Depending on how credible the anonymous source is, it may be that we're receiving confirmation of LeBron as the cover player, though not the actual cover design itself. That may not make it fake as such; it could conceivably be leaked concept art, a design that was suggested and possibly at one point being considered, but not the final cover that's been decided on.

For all I know, EA seems to have a theme going with their sports covers. Like with the NHL 13 cover, it shows the cover player, with a black and withe background showing a hockey rink. Kinda the same thing going with Madden NFL 13, except that it shows Ford Field on the background.

True, there usually is some consistency in the artwork across all the titles.

The player for the cover & the cover --both are great. But I don't think that's the official one.

That LeBron wallpaper is pretty common. And for these types of covers, I think they will get a different caption.

As for the cover player, I think it's LeBron for real, just not that one.
