Let's just say he's hated by that particular rival, whether Dallas Mavericks, etc. But we have to look at the overall publicity hate and that would be lower.
Now if we put someone like LeBron. Many fans who aren't supporters of the Miami Heat will hate LeBron be jealous of him, etc. Therefore the security problems of someone like LeBron would be far greater.

Plus it's not just about hate. The more publicity would mean more crowd problems, therefore this would cause more insecurity not just towards the player, but towards the group of people at the crowd.
Security problems are inevitable regardless of the player. But at least they can reduce it by picking someone less famous and someone who isn't known as a hated man.

Oh and the other reason is if there are other players on the cover for NBA Live 13, then 2K can't pick the exact same players for their game cover. :)

9 days have passed since the NBA Live 13 leaked gameplay video and we still haven't heard a rational response from EA Sports yet. It doesn't seem like they're taking their fans very seriously. :?

They could be just going with what JaoSming suggested in the second podcast. EA knows the game can't compete with 2K13, so they're not going against 2K's hype machine. They could release some reviews of the game a week before release, whenever that is, and base their sales on impulse buys and the fact that the game will have a demo.

As I said, I'm pretty sure everyone is curious how Live 13 turns out, and any of us with a console will try the demo out; even out of curiosity, or just for laughs. EA could get enough impulse sales, and focus on making the next installments actual contenders.

P.S. As we've reported, EA made a statement to Kotaku saying the build shown in the video is old and pre-alpha. That's a response, whether you believe it or not.

1) You're putting too much weight on the LeBron hate.

2) Yes, getting someone less famous and having less crowd for an event where you want people to come is always the goal. :?

Just watched it again, and noticed that the ball goes into the crowd after that CPU halfcourt-shot-to-beat-the-8-second-violation

viewtopic.php?f=131&t=76513#p1290393
Removal of invisible barrier so the ball can go into the crowd.

To hell with how it looks, RLS!!!!

the accelerated clock is cool. i still think they should do "tv timeouts" to allow more manual substitutions to come in but it's a nice feature. they obviously stop it in the last 2 mins like in madden

cause if so, I rarely see the full team stick around for O-Boards in non-playoff games like they do in video games.

first made basket I found in a random full game on YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qmFL6J3 ... ge#t=1828s

Jao, if you rewatch the heat vs okc clip, rest of heat players run back before the shot even goes up as benji stated. In my humble in opinion, it is a glitch and not something that the developers coded in to replicate the NBA teams behavior on offense. When Battier gets the ball on that same possession, he kinda pump fakes and hop steps to the left without taking a dribble. Now is this also part of the game since NBA refs miss carry and travels in real life? I think the game missed the call/violation while the a.i. didn't and registered this as a turnover, hence the reason why the players ran back before the shot even went up.

This is something I mentioned in the podcast that just went up too.

He does dribble first off, there is a little crab dribble before the shot. IMO, it looks more like a Go-To-Move than a hop-step then shot, meaning the AI ran back as soon as the player hit "shoot" rather than waiting for the shot itself.

And you can see players running back like that throughout the video, making me think this is a feature replicating what we can see in NBA games, rather than an AI lapse (although, I agree, the timing and all players leaking in that on play is bad, other plays only a few leak back)
