woo hoo!
http://kotaku.com/5887735/ea-sports-con ... -live-nameReached by Kotaku, EA Sports confirmed both the name and the game's release later this fall. "This fall we'll launch an all-new experience that captures the future of basketball with NBA Live 13," a spokesman said. "More to come soon."
And Kyrie Irving played it today, so hopefully we'll get a trailer or something soon.

Yes
Glad to know they went back to Live but that doesn't mean anything if the game isn't groundbreaking after two/three years of wait.

Good, I'm glad they continued with the Live name. "Elite" never really sounded right to me.

Great to hear the 'Live' title is back and looking forward to Monday's news

I too am pleased to see them go back to NBA Live. Elite always sounded a little awkward and it obviously carries more baggage than the NBA Live brand ever did. Judging by the reactions around the gaming websites, it seems NBA Live is actually benefiting from a little nostalgia as well. Seems like the right move to me, plus we get to keep our domain name as is.

Next steps: PC version and a solid game, so the series makes a strong return.

It doesn't need to be groundbreaking. It just need to be good out of the box.

Maybe that wasn't the correct word but EA has to bring something really good that justifies the 2/3 year cycle.

I was excited when I seen this yesterday!!! Future of Basketball, sounds very ground breaking, but we'll see!! As long as it's not like NBA 2K12 with Kinect I'll be happy. I hope they showcase the game at E3, I will skip work just for the press conference lol

A solid all around product should do the trick. If it comes to the table with satisfactory gameplay, good online features, a deeper Dynasty Mode, the beginnings of a My Player-type mode and overall delivers an enjoyable sim oriented experience, it's on the right track and should do well.

Glad Live is coming back. Hope they nail the game. After playing for a while, I really don't dig 2K12 due to the game's shortcomings.

So EA had point guards to try the game. With NBA Live's history regarding guard play...uh-oh...
Sun Feb 26, 2012 9:53 am
If those guy's virtual equivalents are dominant, not so bad. If Chris Duhon is still capable of torching you for 40 and 10, it's back to the drawing board on the point guard domination issue.

To destroy hopes,
Gamestop -

http://www.ign.com/search/product?query=nba+live+13Xbox 360 and PS3 only listed on each, with stand in box art for Amazon and Gamestop. But IGN wins with "Take Oprah to the hole with the '012 edition of EA Sports' NBA franchise."
I'm not going to even think there will be a PC version until I see
this in a trailer or official website.

Awesome news if it is accurate, though like Jon I'm holding out for confirmation from the horse's mouth. As always, fingers crossed.
