New Announce Team, Most likely ESPN Integration

Wed Jun 09, 2010 12:26 pm

from OS
According to the Associated Press, NBA Elite 11 will have a new announcing team that includes Mark Jackson, Jeff Van Gundy and Mike Breen.

why swap out for the ESPN announcers if they werent going to follow NCAA 10, NCAA FB 11 and Madden with the ESPN integration?

Ugh, Mark Jackson in the game. :( That's going to be really weird if he gets a coaching job, too. I guess it's good for ESPN Integration but I'm sorry to see Marv go.

Good question.

They're not going to use the ESPN license as they did with NCAA Basketball 10? That is a little pointless then. As I said, it's going to be really weird if Jackson ends up coaching next season.

I doubt he's gonna be coaching anywhere next season

I read he was amongst the shortlist of candidates for the Nets job, though granted not the frontrunner from memory.

On the bright side, commentary in video games can get repetitive and annoying after a while. In Jackson's case, it's going to mean realism.

My second thought exactly. This would be Steve Kerr situation all over again! Let's all hope that he stays with ESPN for realism sake.

:applaud: IDK about you guys but i'm super hyped for this game now after years of dealing with the annoying Steve Kerr I finally get to here "BANG", "Mama There Goes That Man" and the randomness we call Jeff Van Gundy.. Nice pickup EA, I just hope the gameplay improved.. lol but im still buying 2k

I find Mark Jackson more annoying than Steve Kerr - real life or video game - but at least he's still in the booth.

those 3 are my favorite broadcasters, so I don't mind that they're in NBA Elite 11.
Too bad the game won't be released for the pc

Let's hope Van Gundy can add some sort of entertainment.

Looking back over the thread, I realise I misread the reference to NCAA Basketball 10 in Jon and Pat's posts, so please disregard that comment. I still have mixed feelings of course because I'm a fan of Marv Albert and not big on Mark Jackson, though I do like Mike Breen, go back and forth on JVG and with full ESPN integration it should greatly enhance the presentation.

We get it man. And I thought that Jeff Van Gundy was the most likely of the two to be coaching next season.

Yes, I do realise I repeated myself a couple of times there. ;)

Avery Johnson is said to have the Nets Job, I don't think people want Jackson to coach for them, maybe he should try being an assistant coach 1st

True. If the Nets are serious about making a run at LeBron it seems unlikely they'll opt for an inexperienced coach as well. Still, was just a thought.

Definitely enjoyed Marv's commentating but I dig this.

Even though I find all 3 annoying at times (especially Mark Jackson with his lame catchphrases...I mean last game, he called Kobe's move a "Beyonce move to the left to the left", lol SMH.) it should be fun to hear them and get a change. :)
