New Screens and Info on Dynasty

Postby Haval on Sat Aug 21, 2010 1:21 pm

Here is the new article for the game informer mag about NBA Elite. You can clearly see the ESPN ticker along with some news about dynasty mode if you read. It says dynasty got a bit of an upgrade with a new GM Tracker. Check it out. Man I haven't posted on these forums for a long while.

Great to see you around Haval, thanks for sharing that with us. :)

I'm definitely pleased to hear that Dynasty Mode has received some attention this year, suggesting we should be getting a fairly solid all-around product if all the gameplay changes and re-tooling of the modes pans out. Hopefully the GM Tracker system will work out, I'm still a fan of the approach implemented in NBA Live 06 with team staff that are hired similar to free agents and are then assigned tasks, as well as the ability to train players through the Academy drills, but let's see how it works out. Revamped rookie classes and a rebuilt sim engine? That's definitely welcome news.

I wish they release some videos about the signature shots.

Once we start getting some more gameplay videos, I'm sure we'll be able to scrutinise that.

Good to see you guys like the info, was looking for news and found this. I knew Ben and some of you guys love dynasty mode here so this was the first place to post it. Hopefully it's as good as it sounds, need to get back on dynasty haven't started one in years. Also would be nice to have a NBA-Live series EASBA team this year.

Likin' the ESPN ticker. Seems dynasty mode will definitely be worth playing this year. (Y)

Absolutely. (Y) As far as Dynasty is concerned it really is welcome news for me, I've gone back to my old NBA Live 06 Dynasty to feed that addiction but hopefully NBA Elite 11 delivers the goods. Speaking of the menus, I really hope we have the standard reorder roster screen in Dynasty Mode rather than having to handle that through the Rotation menu. Not a bad idea, just cumbersome and on the whole not very well executed.

Well, the news is still going to be coming out. ;) If you fall behind or can only drop by on weekends, I've started doing a weekly recap of the NBA Elite 11, NBA 2K11 and NBA Jam news.

I'm not impressed by the players graphics. I've played NBA Live since 95 but switched to 2K10 last year. I just think player models look so much better in 2K's game.
The defensive stances in this picture don't feel natural :(

I don't know, the player models in the NBA 2K11 screenshots we've seen so far are a bit too bulky.

Also consider that it's a scan of a magazine article, which affects the quality of what we're seeing.

Yeah.

Anyway, to get the thread back on-topic, I'm hoping that there will be a few surprises in Dynasty Mode this year but simply getting a better sim engine, generated rookies, better staff management and handling of player development and more functionality in the menus (with aesthetically pleasing ESPN Integration) including a traditional reorder roster function, Dynasty Mode is already leaps and bounds ahead of NBA Live 10. David Littman mentioned that game modes had received attention in that first Gamespot Q&A and seems that's been the case. Good stuff. :)
