Does a coach's rating affect your players at all?

I've been wondering because i use the Raptors and the players have been progressing very well. Doc Rivers is in the free agency and his Overall Coaching Grade is an A. Jay Traino is the current coach and his grade is a D. Or does this not matter at all?

It matters for simming games. Coaches also improve or regress based on their Potential grade.
Offense, Defense - self-explanatory
Teaching - helps in player development alongside the player's Potential rating, excluding offseason camps and development drills.

Though I think the Potential rating for scouts is different for coaches.
I think for Scouts a higher Potential rating will help you get a more accurate Potential grade for draft prospects.
