Sudden Lagging Issues

Postby coffee_black on Wed Jul 21, 2010 1:49 am

I've been playing this game since it's come out. I usually set my advanced video settings on high for crowd and stadium with no problems. It was playing fine one game then the next game i started, the sound and image started to lag big time. I was searching for a solution but couldn't find anything. This dude posted the exact same problem on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdDkN2qupCo
Is there a way to fix this without having to decrease the game quality?

Did you torrent the game like he did? That's a guaranteed issue right there.

Any things you have done to your computer lately? Like Windows updates, or installed new drivers, or installed a new game that installed something along with it.

From the actual video, maybe an antivirus application is trying to scan files used by the game, or another program in the background is just hogging resources. Try using gamebooster to stop unneeded services while the game is running and defragment the game files.

it still doesn't help gameplay lagging although gamebooster's awesome. everything else such as the menu became faster and easier to deal with so thanks for that :D

Alt+Tab out of the game once it's lagging and bring up the Windows Task Manager(CTRL+ALT+DEL). Click on the Processes tab. Are there any programs using a lot of CPU other than NBA2K10.exe? Right click NBA2K10.exe and select "Set Affinity", are all the cpu cores that are not greyed out checked?
