Alright, to help come to a conclusion on this issue, I have done some homework on the 2k10 ratings and the live 10 ratings of the top 10 ratings for each position. I went through and found mean averages.
Let's start with Live 10:
PG- 86 (and no Rondo??) (6 PG's over 85)
SG- 86
SF- 86
PF- 86 (very overrated PF's, 8 of them over 85)
C- 82 (7 centers over 80, only 3 in 2k10)
Ok and now for 2k10:
PG- 85 (C3P, D-ron, Rondo are top 3)
SG- 84 (But no Kevin Martin?)
SF- 84
PF- 83
C- 78 (and thank God, Yao Ming is finally rated properly, at 83, not around the 90's)
So here we can conclude that the mean average for the top 10 players of positions in Live 10 is 85, whilst in 2k10 it is 82. Live seems to be handing out ratings at will, and overrating players (still with Yao at around 88 I think. 2k10 has a few hiccups, but I would say the ratings will take a steep decline through the complete lists, and would appear to be more realistic.
