Well guys, I searched around and found this

Too much clutter. And cheaper by a couple of dollars to boot!

Hey guys, if I buy the hard copy of the game, will I still be able to sync it up with Steam? I'm a big fan of Steam but I'd really like a hard copy of the game since I'm a huge Kobe fan.

technically any game can be run under steam
if you minimize it to your game list only, and click on the games menu on top, there is an option to add a non-steam game to your games list
just know that the disc version will not have steam tied to it like this year.

Why do some ppl prefer the steam version vs. retail Hard-copy version? Both versions will offer online functionality and patch updates right?

yep, but my reasoning is that at 4am EST on next Monday I can have the game, rather than waiting for stores to open up.
another good reason is if I mess up my install, with 2 clicks I can redownload the game as a fresh install, and when I get a new computer I can just link up my steam account and download it there without paying more.

Well my internet is kinda slow, so I guess it benefits those with good internet connections. I remember last year it took me like 1.5hrs just to install the game thru steam
