coz when i do that, the stats seem so unrealistic..
any solution to this?
I let the game play out. In the beginning I used to sim ahead but there is a bug with that causes some of the team stats to drop to zero and it will cause a lot of problems with your bench. Lost J.R. Smith to a trade cause he wasn't getting enough playing time.
me i dont wait i just play it... but if i feel its too much... i just simply get my man to 2nd foul on first quarter so that i could get bench and let my other team mate increase there stats... and by second quarter get your 3rd foul asap... so you get bench again... then play the rest 3rd and 4th quarter ... that way you will get realistic score at least LOL

Went into a game playing for Pacers 8-17 .. against the Bucks.. winning by 6 with 5:31 remaining. Better win this one!

when i press the SIM TILL SUBBED button, the simulation stats seem so HIGH!!
on the first quarter alone with 1 min left, the scores like 53-49..

when i get 40 min to play, it's not so hard

I never had them problems when simming until subbed in, even when I was coming off the bench with limited minutes. Doesn't matter now considering I'm receiving 40+ minutes per game.. I played 52 minutes in my previous game

lost by 2 in 2OT

2nd game in D-League: I play 8 mins quarter scored 17pts (7/ 9 from the field) / 2Rbs/ 8 Asts (Avg. 7.5)/ 1 TO AND I took the game winning shot (some sort of layup) an hit it. I was happy like a child in a candy store.
Only one thing that desturbs me slightly, I'm a 6.3 PG, most of the time I play SG which is pretty ok to me. But from time to time (8 mins during the last game) I have to play SF. Strange feeling if you play a guy who's 6 inch taller... I have the strange feeling that I have to get used to it...

^They put me in at PF for a while at 6'5" but it eventually stopped.

i've just play my best game !! 46 pts 12 ast in 5 QT , i'm a guard

but i lost against dallas 62-63 :'( josh howard dropped a 3 in my face @ the buzzer

I feel that this game mode is too easy... To up your ratings it should cost you a lot more than a couple of hundred SP.. Now you can be a superstar already in your rookie year.
I mean- look at me. My 1st game in the nba I played like 3 minutes, and at the end of the year I won the rookie of the year and sixth man of the year, I was averaging like 30ppg, and overshadowed wade big time- he averaged only 10 ppg. It's not interesting to play this mode anymore... 2k should really think about some improvements next year, like a choice when you're setting up the mode- easy (ratings cost only a little, you get a lot of drills), medium (something like it is now), hard (ratings cost a lot, very little number of drills), and of course very hard (almost impossible to do anything). But yet the logic has to be much improved for it to work- if you're a pg coach shouldnt put you in as a sf.. I believe an ability to chose not only your primary position, but also secondary would do much good to avoid these things. Also when you start a new game mode, if you were in the draft combine, you shouldnt get pick #1 overall, because the current rookies should also be drafted again (maybe an option to choose, if you want). For PC users, draft combine would be a nice gesture of 2k the next year...
Also the ability to choose 2k's set up sliders and rules would be nice- default (everything at 50), "2k" (try to do something... Not real yet but to be getting there), and real (like foul frequency turned up, shots a bit difficult to hit etc.. just real).
One more thing I'd like to see is that you get more control over your player's mindset- ability to ask GM for a trade, real contract signing, money should be a factor in some way. Your personality, financial security, play for winner thing etc, and that would have effect on your rating just like team chemistry (like if play for winner is important to you, rating would drop if the team is losing, also if financial security is important, when signed a low salary contract you would be unhappy all year long... Loyalty would determine the length of contracts that teams are offering you when in free agency, ability to turn down the resign offer and go to free agency.. Choose player morale thing... Maybe include something like "play for stats"- if it's important then, if you average kind of low numbers it would affect your ratings also. Other thing is player chemistry... (something like in live 08) Ability to fill or decrease the bar of every player in the nba, like if beasley is never passing to you (like it happened to me), you can decrease the chemistry bar, stating that you have problems with this player, and the GM would have to choose either to trade you or him to another team, depending on what good you can bring to the table. And last but not least, playing time concern- how important is it for you to play big minutes.
Basically just make the game mode more challenging, because it is not really interesting to play when you're an undrafted rook and you lead the lakers, overshadowing Kobe, and Gasol, and Artest to win the championship...

I'm in my third season, and this is getting out of control with the generated players.
They need to fix those players, I mean, what the hell, 6'10" SF dribbling, running & shooting like some crack-addicted SG
I have one of them monster 6' PG, coming out of nowhere, out-powering Jamal Crawford! Please...
OK, Jamal is not Jordan nor Kobe or Dwayne but hey.
Plus those random players are in every team & they coming in packs of 4-5, in Minnesota U can find like 3 of them at starter position (K.Love - benched! Rofl).
I like to think the game is trying to balance itself by including my rating in the mix but there are really too much of them I.Robot. Just too much.
There are also some issue with some Old players still playing like age have no effect on them or youngster not evolving like A. Randolph of Golden State (many NBA analyst have agreed to say he is the future at PF position).
There is so much to say about this mod. One thing is sure : it's addictive.
What I would like to see is some projected rating charts year by year like :
Rookie year > Athetic SF > shot Inside 60 _ max projected rating 70 (At season's end)
Some stuff like this for every attributes and play styles would be nice IMO.

i started playing PF 6'8, its kind small for its size but i dont care about that LOL...
one problem i encounter being PF is too slow! ... even with 60 spd and 60 quickness, its still slow... so try to develop my speed and quickness at summer league and training camp.. though i have problem with scoring because i cant slash due to slowness!!!! ... but eventually i manage to increase the speed to 70 and quickness to 75... i ignore the other attributes only develop those two..
by the start of the season i got an easy and cool start ... averaging 20 pts plus... on 5 games.. speed and quickness allow me to drive and slash and give me enough speed to outrun other PF and SF...
i want to be SF with a dunking style of D-HOward but i dont have access to it if im at SF... but when i try PF, i can finally get the dunking style of D-howard LOL

After 8 games of the bench in D-League I got a ten day contract with the Pacers, a team that already had 4 PGs, all better than me (55)! Well, I got a spot in the starting five. The first game was against the Spurs, so I had to play against Tony Parker. That really sucked! First of all, the Spurs won. Ok, that was clear before the game started. They shot about 65% from the field and only missed shots during the time I was of the bench and simulated the game. During the game my player, a 6.3 PG, played SF most of the time. The result was that Richard Jefferson ended up with 36 pts on 80% shooting...
Next funny thing is, that for the next game I was listed to be on the IR. Guess what. I was subbed in, 10 sec after the game started.
I would have been glad to spend one complete season with the Mad Ants, to improve as a player. Instead of this I got assinged to a team I don't wan to play for. Is there any way to change the sliders?!?
Wed Jan 13, 2010 12:32 am
slider? i dont think so... but you could try Tsearch if you know the hex code LOL...

By now, I really hate H A T E those ***** Pacers. They shoot from every angle and they seem to have the rule that the dumbest oughta take the most shots. I lost all of the 8 games since I'm with the team. One loss was to the Bulls in overtime, because Rush thought that he should attempt a fadeaway 3-Pointer while trailing by one O N E point with 20 sec to play. They even do not take any timeouts when trailing by a small amount late in the game.
By the way, I reclaimed my spot in the starting five, but get subbed in as SG most of the time. I still get subbed in as SF for about 1/3 of my time on the court. Last game I got abused by Mayo and Gay of the Grizzlies. So I ended up with only a B+ because of all the points they scored against me...
Edit:
Changed the sliders to joel_b's sliders and played 12min/quarter. My Pacers won 104-92 against the T-Wolves. It felt much more realistic. I had a game that perfectly fitted to my skills: 8pts (4-10)/ 3reb/ 6ast/ 1block (blocked a smaller guy)/ 2stls/ 3TO in 34 min. I finished with an A+ despite the TOs, because I played good D, I passed the ball around well, AND Joe Sixpack from the T-Wolves didn't hit every shot he took.
Much better game right now.

Just wanted to create a thread for those who want to share their stories pertaining to your My Player experiences in 2K10.
In my game, I created a fictional version of myself if i was 6'6 and was talented enough to pursue a career playing basketball. I'm a 6'6 SG out of Canada, picked my basketball #10, the same # i played with when I used to play in HS.
So I started off with being invited to the Charlotte Bobcats summer league team where I excelled in, started off as a bench player, Coach also played me at PG at times when they needed me to stop their PG. Then after the 2nd game became the starting SG for the summer league team. After the summer league was over, my agent told me there were numerous teams that wanted to invite me to Training Camp, and after debating if I wanted to join either the Raptors (hometown), New York (Big Apple) or Lakers (chance to win a ring), I decided to test my luck with the Lakers, since it would be awesome backing-up Kobe (gaining experience) and having a legit shot winning a ring at the same time.
Although I thought I played pretty well when I was in Training Camp, they decided to let me go since they were going in a different direction when they decided to go with a veteran SG instead in Fred Jones.
My agent told me that it wasn't a big deal and if i work hard enough, i will get my chance in the big league someday. So off to the NBDL i went, I was signed by the Sioux Falls SkyForce but I was hugely dissapointed when i learned that I would play a role off the bench in my first game and as a result I did not play particular well in my first game. In my 2nd game I decided to give the SkyForce a chance even though they were using me as the 7th man, I remember in a close game, we were down by 1, and I stole the ball and went for a breakaway jam. Eventually we won the game. From that 2nd game on, I felt that this was my team. I even created some chemistry with the starting PG and after the 4th game I became the starting SG. Just like in real life, you win some and you lose some but fortunately we were around the .500 record, and that's when my big break came.
My agent informed me after a good win with the SkyForce that the Detroit Pistons signed me, and my dreams of becoming a NBA player comes true. Obviously I play sparingly since they already have Rip as the starting SG and Gordon as the backup, but as the games go by and my game develops, Coach puts me in crucial moments of the game as i gain his trust with each game. Management decides to trade Gordon in order to make room for more playing time for me and also since my contract cost less than his. In return Detroit gets Josh Howard from the Mavs. Coach decides to shake the line-up as well since we are below .500 and inserts me as the starting SG while using Rip and Josh Howard off the bench.
So that's where i'm at now with My Player, what's your story?

You probably need to make a new my player which really sucks

. Some people say that it's a glitch and for you to get a call from an NBA team, you need to make a new my player.
Wed Jan 27, 2010 10:37 pm
pretty much... you need to get A+ on the summer camp... A+ on training camp then straight to NBA... if you stuck ... you probably need to get started again

I'd tried upping my game after that one guy said he had 74 points, but got stuck at 69. I still can't get the hang of stealing. Whenever I press square I get the weirdest animations and usually not even a bad steal attempt message. I'll just keep dunking on people then and raining threes.

i got 75 points with my PG... because i got the first hand on the ball.
btw about steal... you need to read the PLAY... Computers tend to do plays that you can intercept so easily... based on the plays, you will know the timing of there passes...

Got bored of my PG on the Wizards, and made a 7'0" athletic finesse PF named Abraham Jenkins. Its way more challenging, but far more enjoyable. In summer league with Boston right now, but I don't think I'll even make training camp. My guy never gets the fucking ball. I averaged 35 points and 10 assists in training camp as a PG, but just got 4 points and 9 rebounds with my new player. Very different experience.

It seems that PF's are the least possible to get the ball I also Tried a PF he was 6'10 Face-up and every time I try to set a pick the Point Guard won't passit to me and instead continue to the basket

I can only score on off rebounds and sometimes spot-up mid range J's whenever the pick and pop works for me

Yeah, I had 4 and 9 in my first game, then 22 and 10 in the second. Now I'm back to struggling. Its very rewarding when I do score, but for the most part its a pretty infuriating experience. Probably about to quit because it just isn't fun.

yep, they dont give you the ball sometimes...

but im happy with my PF now... i raise my speed to 86 and quickness to 85... now i can slash and dunk over them..
i think if you add some outside shooting.. like me they give you the ball when i ask
