Same thing happened to me. I had to simulate the game, wasn't sure what was wrong with it.

Anyone else getting audio distortion from the music at certain times? The audio just breaks up. It never used to do that.

YESS!! Have that all the time!!With the in-game commentary as well. How do I fix that? I tried everything...with the settings and all but it keeps happening! Plus I don't even hear the ball bouncing!!!!!!!

Someone posted this at OS, and I agree with him 100%. It's my biggest problem with 2K10(on-ball defense)....


"Well, you see, the thing is that playing on-ball defense is needlessly difficult, because the ball handler usually skates all over the court and the defensive controls don't respond nearly as well as they should. Additionally, there is no real footplanting and momentum in 2K10, which gives the attacking player even more of an unfair advantage. You can offset that advantage by letting the CPU player guard whomever is controlling the ball, because the CPU does not have to rely on broken defensive controls in order to defend effectively."

True, especially in help defense. Double down on a big posting up, then try to close out on the shooter once he passes the ball. A change of direction animation will slow your close out, however, the cpu NEVER does the animation and recovers much quicker if you are the one on offense.

When on offense, and cpu doubles your big in the post, they rotate as if they were playing zone, and whoever I pass the ball to gets a hand in his face before I can take a shot (in most cases). I have to make 2 extra passes to find an open guy, which is quite difficult to do the "amazing" pass accuracy and CPU's ability to play the passing lanes. When I'm defending they never do that, I have to quickly switch to another defender, and if I get lucky he doesnt fall asleep before he can get a chance to get to the guy with the ball

I know one way around that is to increase the game speed and lower the player speed. That way the ball moves faster in relation to the player movement.

I wonder if these are already fixed as i'm planning to play again.

Hey my 2k is messed up
I wanted to play a pickup game all in low detail - because it s faster that way
but when you it goes to tip off i can only see my team the other team is still sitting on the bench and when it performance bench mark it ill just so that the teams on the bench and show thier faces back 'n' forth

OK so I've tried to pick up a game that I've saved earlier during the first quarter and it goes into the game loadup screen but then keeps crashing back to Windows after the loadup screen.
This is my Association file so if I can't resolve this then I've just played dozens upon dozens of hours all for nothing..

They are not fixed yet as the patch has not been released. All the issues/glitches/bugs you mentioned are fixed in the patch:

- Fixed a soft hang on an inbound where the inbounding player would miss the ball handoff from the referee.

- Players should no longer get stuck in the post in a single player hold-ball animation (often leading to a 24-second violation) when trying to drive to the basket.

- The dribbler should no longer teleport back a few feet on the court following a two player steal attempt.

we just waiting for nearly 5 month and we have still no PC Patch. So, is it still important to get this patch ?
I saw major glitches, gameplayflaws, hundreds of minor things they kill my fun with this game more and more, no Onlineaccess, disrespects to us PC-Customers (Consoles get 2 patches we get none without any information for many weeks) and lies from 2K Sports Admin 2KRon.

For me, i´m done with this game and done with 2K Sports. i´m able to life without an PC-Basketballgame, but i´m unable to life with the feeling to support a company that disrespects or lies me with a smile in my face and steals my money with false promises (still no Onlineaccess !).

OK lets say I fixed the player movement a little, by lowering the resolution and player detail, but....how do I fix my in-game sound (mainly commentary)...they're all choppy and bad. I have a Realtek HD audio for sound and a dual core system on a laptop. Will this be fixed my updating my sound driver? It's different with players cuz i can lower player and change resolution, but with sound I can't do that, "lower audio resolution"....please help! I need commentators!!!!!!!!!

I don't know. The sound quality of the commentators in 2K10 is really bad compared to 2K9. There is some studdering going on somewhere, too. Over the past few months, I've noticed it alot in the music being played during the menu's, but I never noticed that when I first got the game. Updating your sound card drivers sounds like a good idea.

Yea exactly, the menu music also, keeps skipping a beat....simply chopped up. I'll update my drivers and get back at ya. Thanx!

Don't worry, this happened because a new Living Roster update came out a few hours ago. While you were playing NBA Today, new rosters were released on the server/2K Share and thus your rosters did not match the new rosters(which is required to play NBA Today games).

I've had this happen before too. Just restart the game and you can enjoy NBA Today again.

The only other time this happens is when the server is completely shut down i.e. server maintenance/upcoming patch release/etc.

Well for about a week now, 2-3 minutes after I start the game, it freezes and it just keeps playing the same sound/music. I have to restart my pc because it freezes too. Suggestions anyone?
P.S. My pc specs arent very high but I could still run the game on low/medium settings. I tried to play on low settings only and it froze again.

I'm not sure what I did, but whenever I got to play a quick game, it never actually goes to the tip-off and beyond. It just recycles clips of the user's point guard and the refs standing around before the tip-off. Does anyone have an idea of what this may be?

I have the same problem as Bmur, and I think it's connected to the second one, because only the point guard of my team is on the court. Does anyone have a solution/fix? Please let me know
I cannot play a game. This happened yesterday; have never had it before, do not know where it comes from (I play with default live roster, individual sliders).

So I've been playing the game with success throughout the My Player mode, created a character with no issue, so on and so forth.
I'm running Windows 7-64, with dual 9800 nvidia's and 6gb of ram, just so we get the specs out of the way and up to date nvidia drivers.
My issue is this: I'm currently trying to get past my 5th game of the first team tryout, before you get thrown down into the D-League for the first year.
My games completed is at 4/5 and every time the 5th game ends, the game crashes to the desktop, at this point, it's mildly infuriating, and I'm ready to remove the game from my Steam Games list, out of frustration.
I've validated the game files, and everything is where its supposed to be. I've tried playing with updated rosters, base game rosters, connected online and not connected online. Always the same results.
Suggestions?

I think like most issues with My Player you have to wait for the first patch to come...
