Got 2 My Player Careers going on. In one my 5'9 PG was cut by the Spurs after about 6 points and 6 assists per game in the Summer League. Got signed by the Springfield Armor as a backup guard and currently 1-1 right away (Iowa Energy hit a buzzer beater in the first game while Armor thrashed them in the second).

The other one a 6'10 center went through the Hornets summer league and now halfway into the Clippers' training camp. Averaging A- team grade with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists per game but chances still not great considering still haven't faced Marcus Camby nor Chris Kamen yet, it's just been Chris Mihm.

Finally got to starting lineup. I don't know how or why Miami benched D Wade, but we won both games and I was the player of the game in both of them.

Wow well... averaged a A- teammate rating, 21 points per game and 9 boards per game, including school Camby, the starting center for the Clippers, and then get cut and sent down to the D-Leagues. Right... :?

Alright since I have sat my sg down for a while until they release the patch to fix the bug, my center is currently picked up by the magic, he is 6'11 and athletic very good. Hard thing is going from playing as a sg to a center is kinda difficult, specially when they sub you as pf.All in all doing ok for right now (Y)

my player's diary:

im really creeped out right now, i think dfisher and kobe are conspiring against me, man are they losing playing time to a dude with a 52 overall like me, dfish is starting games and and then gets replaced by me 15 seconds after the jump. kobe is really in a slump, what with all the running through the sweepers and the referees, who wouldnt get pissed. Mr. 2k insider has really bombarded me with quotes nowadays, i think hes got alzheimers or something. man, those street cones are killing my dibbling drills, they are so good at blocking me, i dont know im just so uncontrollable during dribbling drills.

Its extremely difficult if you go to a team that is stacked at the position you play - like the Clippers with Kaveman and Camby. You also need to overachieve. I barely beat out Mike James, Chucky Atkins and Javaris Crittendon for the role or Gilbert's backup averaging 43 points and 14 assists on 60% shooting.

Yeah, its very tough for my center right now playing with a team full of bigs and expecting play time to try to get an A rating and some good stats to replace the pf starter who I might add doent average any points in the games ive played so far, even though im a center I wish I wasnt on the magic cause ill never out do dwight right now but on a good note they are second in the confrence so maybe ill win the championship and get all those points to get better but prolly not lol.

I can't dribble or dunk. It's annoying to see guys like Carmelo Anthony or even Brook Lopez fly around and abuse the rim. Some games our paint is like an alleyoop highway. But I got my mid range up to 99 and consistancy at 83. So all I have to do is be open and it's buckets. Scored 30 and 40 something in the last two games. And with a vertical of 95, if someone smaller than me tries to shoot, I have a good chance of getting a block as well. Denied Agent 0 quite spectacularly recently. My team is in sixth position for the conference. With 95 for stamina, I'm virtually on the court all game. I still throw the ball away awkwardly at least once every game and Aaron Brooks seems to not quite understand the back court violation rule as he gets one of those once every game as well. Luckily, my coach has understood that I am not much a pointguard or neither make a good small forward and I get to play my own position. Tracy McCrady is depressed, due to me stealing all his minutes and wants to test free agency. Well, depending on how well we do in the playoffs, if we make them, I am looking for a trade as well. It's quite annoying having Yao Ming as a center. I'd much rather play fast break basketball. I'm used to it now, but it's so slow. The rocket roster is also quite weak. I feel like I have to do everything all the time. Does anyone know if your team mates ever set a screen for you? Just one would be nice.

OH AND THAT WAS NOT POOR SHOT SELECTION FUCK YOU.

Oh, and hi.

i have the same problem. i am 11 games through the D-League averaging 24ppg, 6apg, 4 rpg, i always finish the game with an A+ and it's the 3rd time i've been cut by the Springfield Armor and then resigned by the same team that just cut me. Anyone else encountered this too?

The same thing is starting to happen for me, I'm arguably the best player on the team and now starting at SG and I've been 'cut' twice. And I'm sick of playing the Flash 4 games in a row.

From what I'm reading from others here, if you don't make it to the NBA fairly quickly , you're doomed and have to restart.

Al Ka Pwn, pause the game and go to the coaching options. You can turn on auto playcalling and the play diagrams. After doing that I got lots of screens, but they were within plays. Only problem I noticed is that when they call a play, if you don't get into your spot, the pg won't improvise fast enough all the time. I just call for screens when I get the ball.

Press right on the D-pad and it brings up quick plays and plays. You can cycle through them with one of the triggers. If you call a set play, you may have to give the ball back to the pg, but the good thing is that you can call a play for position. You just gave me an idea. Under coaching options, set playcalling to manual and have the set play diagrams to show for user plays only, then call a play for your position and the court will show you the spots to go to, and if you need to set any screens or make a cut.

That's great. Silly me thought the d-pad was for changing camera only. Seems like I still can't call a play. Must be only for a pointguard or something. But I am looking around in the options and might be able to set the plays that are going to be called, which is like the next best thing.

Figured it out. Thanks again P-Dub.

You can call a play when you have the ball only.

Yeah.

The play system rather sucks though. I spend more time trying to get in the circle than playing ball.
Back to being a selfish shooter it is then.

It's not that bad, it just takes too long for the plays to happen. On top of that, if you slightly stray from the path, the play will die.

I had just selected all kinds of cool, fast flowing plays too. Even found one where Yao would set a screen to let me take a shot from one of my sweet spots. Oh well.

You are saying it's not about me being right in the middle of the blue spot, but I have to wait for the play to happen? That wouldn't be that bad indeed. Will have to try it again later then. Got my hands on someone's copy of Gta 4 and in the middle of some random violence at the moment. "I'm sorry I have to rob you, but my girlfriend won't kiss me unless I buy some new clothes". lol.

No, I mean you do have to be in the blue spot, but the plays in general start slowly.

Gotcha. Do you happen to know if running plays properly will increase team chemistry perhaps?

Hello, I'm playing 7 minutes quarter in superstar(my player mode) I've read several posts here and I noticed that: some guys have to be more patient, we start this mode with a crappy 43 overall player, you're not suposed to be a NBA superstar at least in your second or third season, so if you are stuck in D League is not a bug, you are not good enough to play in NBA, simple. To get higher grades I've learned that in a game of 28 minutes with at least 8 guys playing, you can't try to be the scorer in every minute, the rebounder, the stealer or the assist guy. Be patient, play the game as you were playing real basketball, pass the ball not just thinking on a assist, post at the moments you think you'll have advantage, move around the court, take "good positioning" jumpers by mobing and finding the right spot to receive the ball... Despite the zillions of bugs I think the teammate grade system works very well, I mean the Insider guy even says about big diesel: "I started to not care about stats the moment I became a NBA champion" or something like that, just play the game and "good things will happen"

NBA 2k10 does not give points for teammate grade when you miss a jumper, but rewards you when you take a good one, so just play with intelligent.

Unless of course you take a bad shot in which case it will take off at least a third of letter grade. There have been instances where I've made open 3's or layups and the game has given me points for a made basket or something, but then taken away points for a "bad" shot even with nobody around.

Right now the PS3 has the DNS error even though i've put in manually the DNS code, so even if they do put out some sort of patch will be unable download it. Will have to call PS3 help center or whatever to get it hopefully resolved. My player would be much more enjoyable if the littlest mistake like accidentally pressing the pass button a bit longer while inbounding and get penalized for a "bad call for pass" or "excessive call for pass".
