NLSC Forum and it's editors?

Postby zubinho on Thu Jul 22, 2010 6:24 am

I was just wondering does this forum has its own editors?

If not, it would be a great thing if they can come together and collabrate. I saw some fantastic tools, cyberfaces, jerseys, logos, courts, portraits....
It is disappointing that we haven't seen a big patch/mod for NBA 2K series for almoust two years(don't know earlier).

I thank that you gays are really-really smart and talented. I don't know if there is a lack of motivation or no one hasn't yet put you on the right way.

Maybe now it is too late to do anything for 2K10 but you should really think about making together big things for next version of NBA 2K. It would be nice to play Euroleague/Eurocup next season, NCAA, FIBA Competitions.....

I hope I didn't offend anybody with this post, my intense was for the good of the community.

Cheers!!

NCAA mod has already been created, and there a few threads popping around with FIBA teams and Euroleague stuff. Try searching.
Opinions are my own.

Yes I know for all that mods. Euroleague was "aborted" and now the season is over, FIBA is on it way, saw NCAA.

But I think it just came a bit late and I thought that collaborating could make that happen much earlier and also easier for editors.

Alot of patchers concentrate on NBA mods as it is an NBA game. There is only a minority that do mods like that for the game, as it is not as popular as the NBA and it takes a hell of alot of work to make it.

More people are needed to make these for sure, maybe you can practice and contribute yourself.

I surely want to give myself into this. I've made a tons of patches for PES series. That is quite good experience for me.

late breakthroughs with the REDitor really limited the mod. Only the more recent, full versions that cost money allow for full editing without overwriting files. 2k11 should be a different situation since the summer is usually dead for big mods because of next year's game news and general lack of interest in the NBA.
Opinions are my own.

Yes, but we can pretty much edit anything in the NBA Live series. I wish we could get some kind of global iff/cdf container importer/exporter and generic save editor that can edit each file in a more user friendly way, that way mods could be made much easier.

For instance, an IFF plugin for a program like blender needs to be made. That way we don't have to export to n2km, then import or convert and import, then assign materials and textures to see how it would look, etc. We could take the file directly in to blender and it would load the materials and lighting and models and textures automatically. We could just make our edits, save the file and be done with it. But, we always have these intermediate steps we have to take.

I also think people just enjoy playing NBA 2K9/10 more than they did the Live series, and part of the joy of Live for PC was customizing the shit out of it. It's one of the very few sports games on PC that you can make (virtually)completely custom.

Just imagine if the Live series was never mod-able. They would have stopped making it for PC earlier than 2009 because none of us would have reason to buy it.
