NBA Today feature

Postby Mystic_J on Sun Oct 25, 2009 9:45 pm

ATM, I use NBA2k9 + Albys RR9.

I've read losts of reviews about NBA2k10 here and on the net. Of those, the NBA Today feature cought my attention. Nonetheless, I dont fully understand whats all the fuss about it.

Can anybody describe in plain english what NBA Today exactly does and how it interacts with the association mode?

For instance, If I start an association with the Raptors, will the AI results be affected by the real NBA scores? Or will real trades be simulated in NBA2k10?

It lets you play games that are happening that day in real life with updated stats from the previous day's game. I don't really think it affects Association mode since I haven't noticed any changes in my association, but I could be wrong since it's only preseason.

NBA Today has nothing to do with Association mode, it is a separate game mode like Blacktop Mode.

What NBA Today does amazingly well is the commentary and stat overlays. It does a fine job replicating a real broadcast when they tell the player what Lebron did last night or what upcoming games are coming up.

The only similarity NBA Today has with Association mode, is that commentary. If Dwight Howard scored 50 points in the paint last night in your association and you are playing the Magic the next day, the commentary crew will talk about it.

If you want to update rosters for CPU teams in Association mode you can control all 30 teams this year and manually take care of it.
Opinions are my own.

Exactly what JaoSming said. When a player has the ball, they'll talk about how he played in his previous game, along with his current stats. They'll have small recaps at the bottom of the screen about the games that were played yesterday. They'll also talk about important games that will be played later in the week. Between free throws, after a dead ball, or after a timeout they'll have a nice overlay showing one of the two team's upcoming schedules, stats around the league, or information about a big game that is coming. It makes the association mode very realistic.

For the wishlist next season. Please integrate the live roster in the association

why do you people want that feature? If i'm playing association mode, the LAST thing I'd want is to have the CPU make the same decisions as real life. I want them to make realistic trades and stuff, but I dont want trades happening in real life in my association when i am already in my third year.
