How to access living rosters?

I've got NBA 2k10 on PC. Just wondering how do you access living rosters and the online content?
I've got a 2k sports forum account and that's the username and password I used to login on the game, however, it said incorrect password or something along the lines of that. I also registered a new account on the forum, tried that but that too failed, as it didn't recognise the username.
If anyone is able to help out it would be greatly appreciated!

In game from the main menu: Online -> Register.

dont use your forum account
goto the main menu, online menu, then register a new account in the game itself
