XBox 360 Controller (Wired or Wireless)

Thu Aug 26, 2010 9:39 am

Hi guys my first post here and since 2K11 is coming up, I want to have a controller just like the console ones. So I am asking you which one is a better buy. I am willing to spend money on a controller so I can play it on my laptop. First, I've been using a PS2 controller with a wireless adapter. The thing is it needs 2 PS2 controllers to support it, even playing single player and by myself. It gets really glitchy, like my controller just turns wack and my player runs away from the court and I can't control it. So I press 'Start' look at my 'Choose Side' and I see my controller is in the middle and the 2nd controller is on my team I'm playing with. That happens frequently and it just annoys me. So that' when I'm looking for an XBox controller, one that less glitchy and won't have problems. Now I've heard some problems that 'isomotion' doesn't work, if it doesn't then its' no big deal, I don't use it that much but if it does then great! So which one would be a better buy or perhaps works better, a wireless XBox 360 or wired. If it's the same, then which one would you recommend. Thanks for listening and sorry if I put it in the wrong section?

Seems like I wrote too much for one little question...

Isomotion works in the PC. It's that the left and right triggers are never activated when you press them both at the same time, but that isn't a problem if you use the default configuration for PC which makes you do Isomotion with the left and right bumpers instead of the triggers.

Get a wired 360 one. The wire is pretty long.

wired is just easier

to fix the trigger issue you can use custom XBCD drivers which will not let games recognize it as a 360 controller (which is a nice touch) but it will then allow for full compatibility with 2k10

Alright thanks looks like I will be getting the wired...much cheaper too so I can save a couple bucks and buy some other stuff. :D

Oh and if someone can tell me how to set it up or give me a video/URL link to set it up, that would great.

If you're using default Windows drivers for the controller, all you need to do is to be online when plugging the controller or run Windows Update if auto install doesn't run when you plug in the controller for the first time.

If you're planning xbcd drivers, you can just Google it.

Can someone help me out a little on this xbcd thing? I installed it and I still can't used both triggers at the same time.

The XBox 360 controller is USB right? So I can just plug it into my USB drive on my computer?
