My CPU vs. CPU Settings and Sliders

Mon Jan 11, 2010 4:56 am

I've been editing attributes, tendencies, and sliders for a while and I have what I a set I'm satisfied with for watching CPU vs. CPU games. The PIP numbers are usually between 25-50, superstars take over, and the gameplay is pretty good to watch. That being said, it is a video game and still has it's flaws. I don't have all teams edited yet, but will simulate playoff matchups between Lakers vs. Nuggets, Grizzlies vs. Hornets, Cavs vs. 76ers, Bobcats vs. Bucks, Hawks vs. Magic, and Celtics vs. Bulls. I will post screenshots of the box scores, team stats, and player of the game from each game. I will also post the sliders and settings in a little while.

EDIT: This is for PC.

Pro Gameplay
12 Minutes Quarters
Everything On

All Fouls On
Charging Foul 75
Blocking Foul 100
Reaching Foul 100
Shooting Foul 100
Loose Ball Foul 100

Inside Shot 35
Close Shot 44
Mid-Range 51 (This may be too high, but it helps to balance total points due to lack of foul shots. Getting hot from mid-range is DEFINITELY possible)
3PT 47
Layup Success 35 (This is the key to lowering PIP. The game counts almost every shot at the rim as a layup. Check the shot log at the end of the game and see how many layups are hit in a game to see for yourself. The NBA average for making shots at the rim are 60% and this setting gets pretty close.)
Dunk Success 50
Dunk in Traffic 50

Steal Success 50
Help Defense 50

Quickness 60
Vertical 100
Strength 50
Stamina 50

I'm used to seeing 10-15 FTA per team, but this game was much closer to real life numbers. It doesn't usually happen that much, but I'm hoping that after the patch the fouls happen more often in the post.

This is what I meant by "catching fire" from mid-range. Carmello Anthony couldn't be stopped this game, and only had 6 layups and 1 dunk. First time I've EVER seen a player go for 50 on this game and it wasn't all PIP. Stats look pretty good to me.

I don't know how to post very well on this site, so if somebody can help me figure out how to get all game information in one post, that would be awesome.

You should try fitting everything in one post, it is against forum rules to double post, and you have made a lot of posts so far, so try to use edit to add, or update your info. What is your game speed btw?

I tried, but could only upload 3 attachments per post. I uploaded my pics to a file sharing site so hopefully I can insert more image URL's in one post.

Default 50, I believe.

Aaaarrrggh. Getting frustrated with getting the size of the pictures right. Sorry about the thumbnails, I was trying to get full-size pictures. Anyhoo, this is the second game, 76ers Vs. Cavs. 76ers played like poop, pretty much like real life. Couldn't hit mid-range or 3pt shots to save their lives. Cavs spread it around pretty well. Fouls were much more scarce this game than the previous game, but besides that, the stats are pretty decent. Believable, at least.

User offensive rebounds? It's CPU vs. CPU. Do you know how to reduce assists?

 I'm sorry you are right CPU vs CPU. But the worst team in offensive rebounds has at least 8 per game and the best team in assist has 25 per game. Assist problem in NBA games is huge. Maybe is a bug

2k is supposed to be fixing the assists problem, they said assists are being credited too easily. When I play 12 minute per quarter games, 75-80% of field goals have been assisted by the CPU.
