Nice find bro dragon but yeah gotta agree on what you said 2k graphics is still the same compared to ea's new graphic enhancement ....

Apparently 2K are trying to pull this off as being an old screenshot. I wonder how many people they plan to fool with that :shifty: for Shaq was only traded days ago and had only announced he'd wear 33 like 1-2 days ago. :?

2k10 is going to be like Liberty City Stories or Vice City Stories. Solid, fun game just without innovation or flair.

I knew this screenshot was going to have a lot of DoF and am not one bit surprised they they have the chalk toss as well.

On a different note, does anyone remember what got announced first? Live 365 or Living Rosters?

Re: 2K10 first Image Preview

Don't really care how 2K10 looks, I wouldn't even mind if it looked the same as 2K9 cause i thought the graphics were pretty good in 2K9. As long as the gameplay is great than i could care less. I rather have a game with better gameplay (2K) than a game that only looks good (Live).

I think Living Rosters got announced first or something I remember there was a lot of speculation from 2K fans that EA stole the idea or Mike Wang took the idea to EA with him when he left 2K.

well we have nothing to judge on yet, 2k hasn't said anything yet while EA is just beating around the bush nothing saying anything really big yet.

I wish instead of 1 screenshot every 2 weeks or so we'd just get gameplay montages, even if they have a hideous WIP logo on them

Does everyone here have xbox360/ps3 or sumthing? Like I only rely on my laptop to play games so i'm thankful that once EA Sports decided to drop the Live series for the PC users that 2K Sports decided to step up to the plate and deliver 2K9 to us, PC users. So I kinda get offended that some ppl here bashes the screen shot that 2K10 produces since it's the only source of SIM basketball for the PC users.

I got a PS3 to enjoy using and play Live on.

So he took an average 2K screencap and compared it to the best Live one he could find? Seems fair and balanced.

My Mod roles here and for EA have no reflection upon my dislike for 2K. The screen lacked any real showing of detail in skin textures. Their jerseys appear appear to remain the same that ugly 1 shape fits all look I would of liked a larger pic to really show any potential progress in visuals they claimed to have worked on for 2K10. EA's Live 10 screenshot also didn't show a lot like for example showing the entire improvements of the players faces only just a side shot but you could see from the angle that there are massive improvements in the skin texturing with bumps on the surface of the skin along with improved muscle/tendon textures in the arms. I didn't go in to detail about my dislikes on here so what I mentioned them to someone else. Enjoy the info or more screenshots that will be released tomorrow 2k fans I really hope your gameplay gripes get fixed this year.

ya hopefully they release some info on the gameplay, but still optimistic that 2K10 will produce the superior gameplay compared to LIVE like they do every year. If you are saying that LIVE10 > 2K10 because of one screenshot then you are delusional, but I got to admit that the LIVE10 pic looks better than 2K10(how do you know if that screenshot of LIVE10 is just a cut-scene and not an actual gameplay picture btw?) but I could care less since it's all about GAMEPLAY. IMO LIVE players move really robotic and not as smooth and realistic as 2K basketball players. I'm not going to buy the game because it has better graphics, i'm not going to pause a game and look at the every player model and admire them instead of playing the actual game, i'm going to buy a game if it has better gameplay/animation which 2K has been producing.

EA Sports is a big company with the big dollars but it uses it's BRAND name to sell games and over the years the quality of games have gone downhill. It has recognized that the PC gaming community was not producing enough revenue and therefore terminated the PC consumers and in the eyes of the consumer, EA Sports is only about the money and not about the quality of the game it produces.

No I'm just saying EA won this round I believe as they showed details in visuals.

Covering up issues like a current gen game engine and gameplay flaws by covering them up with new animations isn't really superior (why do you think 2K's primary gameplay AI developer left along with another key producer). For me Live are on track the team they have now have a solid direction and are working hard to fix previous development team flaws. At this current state of development the only downside to Live is no PC release which is a shame, I have been voicing my opinions about that to EA. I think over the next 2 releases we will see a huge difference and will see the direction Mike Wang will take NBA Live and see what development ideas he has been keeping under wraps in his head for a few years.

yes but its all about the game play really hey if EA improves game play than great they got the hint but if 2k has still great game play than we can just leave fix skin textures up to the modders thats why this forum is here right, i cant wait to see what alot of the guys do with this years game.

I would just like to point out that you guys are about to be arguing over nothing

No one is right, no one is wrong, it's all speculation right now.

2k8 to 2k9 wasn't that big of a jump. they fixed up the graphics but the gameplay suffered comparitively.

08 to 09 was a bigger jump that shows potential, but not a fully great game.

But whatever, I plan to have 2k10 for the PC and Live 10 for the 360.

Re: 2K10 first Image Preview

All depends how the game plays. 2k is a lot more fluid than Live series & has been for a while. Live has supposedly been one year away from passing 2k for the last 3 years, so until they put out a game worth buying, I won't do so. I really hope they do, as if they do, it will likely mean that NCAA Basketball 2010 is worth importing for my PS3. Otherwise I'll just get back into College Hoops 2k8 :P

Money? Lots of it?

2k's gameplay and controls isn't for everyone. I personally hate the shot stick and isomotion.

Mike Wang, aka Beluba, stated that he left because he was frustrated with 2k's lack of innovation when coming to the NG consoles and not being able to really "go to town" if you will on the game with his ideas. He left before 2k9 and although he's credited, didnt work on Live 09. EA pretty much gave him the keys to the car and said have fun, make us monies, rather than lure him into a dark alley with 100 lollipops

EA's new graphic enhancement doesn't mean anything. The NBA Live 10 LeBron chalk toss is probably only a cutscene, like the ones featured in NBA Live 09. The cutscenes looked much nicer than the actual gameplay. I wouldn't expect the actual gameplay to look as nice as the LeBron screenshot. You can't really judge anything off of the screenshots so far.

I'm not a fan of 2K's control system for me its a bit of a street game in a lot of aspects I felt 2k9 was a drive crossover dunk in the lane game. It was too easy I feel Live 09 was more strategy play but thats me. I grew up more with Live and have only played a couple of releases of 2K. I borrowed 2K8 last year for about a week or so and was over it.

Fair enough. I don't use the shotstick often, I only use it when taking a shot close to the basket. I still prefer the shoot button. I also prefer Live's inside game than 2K's. Doing a post move in 2K is like doing a long cheat code button combination. I also think Live's Dynasty mode is superior to 2K's Association mode or maybe i'm just used to Live all these years. Overall, I still prefer 2K over Live, for now.

The things that keep me interested to Live is it's Dynasty mode, which I think is superior to 2K's, the inside game, and player DNA updates - 365
