Just make sure the IDs in players.dbf and appearance.dbf are the same for each playter in each notepad template. Or just go and change them yourself with DBF commander.

Well, I'm done with my bit. Should I do more?

I think the destinies need a bit of revamping i.e done at all.

I've noticed that damn Aaron McKie doubles problem in my dynasty just now... he appears on both the Sizers and Hawks rosters... Must have something to do with his PLAYERID being 0 by default... anyone else has tested the patch in his dynasty?

Mark #6, sent the file again, I haven't received it. Try tonitopulo@yahoo.gr AND dweaver99027@yahoo.gr

Joéb, Have you contacted Ryan and Cerbantes? What have they been up to?

I've only performed tests in my dynasty, simming the rest and goingthrough the off season. Only gripe I've noticed is Aaron Mckie being in Atlanta, starting at PF

Also I have sent them to you, shall i send them to Joeb before or after I add his ratings in?

After you've added the ratings, send the complete first round both to me and Joeb...

And don't forget to test regularly...

Well, the code is repetitive and short , so problems are relatively easy to root out... but it's still better if you test often... saves you the trouble of looking through a long list of code lines to see wher eyou made a mistake... If you sent the file to my via e-mail attachment, I'll check out its functionality...

I didn't know which playerpkg to use for CJ Miles, so now it's just:

"cdbflite.exe" players.dbf /case /filter:PLAYERPKG=CJ Miles

When there is doubt, look at Seraph's templates in this thread and use the same IDs he uses. It's AAMILES for CJ Miles. Don't worry, though, I'll tweak it when I have the whole 1st round in my hands.

Ive sent the txt file to both of you as an attachment, something was wrong wiht the code for awhile but im pretty sure i fixed it.

I also simmed a season and found the ratings quite good, deffinately the rookies werent over performing, more like under performing, esp Bogut 9ppg 8rpg!! as a starter. Chris Paul started in Utah and was on 14,4,6 which was quite nice. other than that they werent anythign special.

Also I think some of the dunkpacks should be looked at, I took Green into a workout and he only would do the generic one handed dunks.

Anyway dont forget to check your Inbox's hoepfully we can get this finished soon.

I'll PM it. The mail that is.

The dunkpacks and destinys should be revamped, everyone leaves a suggestion, then use the median or something of the like maybe?

I used nbadraft, draftcity, nbadraft-articles and the realgm-forum. PM'd a few people over there that have seen "my" prospects aswell.

Okay, here's my two cents on the project:

- Overall ratings for the rookies are higher than average. Mid to late first rounders are rated 60 - 65 whereas they should be 54-59 tops, in my opinion. This has little to do with the overall rating in players'dbf, but rather with the overall the CPU computes after the training camp, which is based on the sum of the specific ratings. So the specific ratings should be toned down quite a bit.

-One rating that I've noticed is too low on almost every occasion, is the FG one. This results in low FG percentage. This should be increased on almost every rookie.

-We must add the fields THREEPTSAT and CPASSISTS in the template. This is the percentage of 3 pointers a rookie attempts, when all his FG attempt represent 100%.

-I agree with the destinys being in needof revamping, altough that is easily accomplished incorporating the FIELD destiny into the template. 0 represents excellent potential, 1 (very) good potential, 2 good potential , and so on... I haven't tested the dunkpacks yet.

-I have experienced the Aaron Mckie effect in one of the two dynastiesI tested the ratings patch on. Don't know why it appeared only in one of the two.

Yeah I agree with the rating problems although the earlier picks need higher ratings ,Bogut 64??

Ive updated the notepad file to include the destiny field, its not the one that says what the rookies potential when scouting, rather its a hidden attribute that all players have (that is the one you are thinking of Weaver??

I dont really know the players well enough to tweak the ratings, If i can be given the ratings i can add them in easily enough...........

File will be sent to Joeb soon.

Im assuming you got it weaver??

Well, I tested it and there was arookie in the dynasty with potential:average. Then I cahnged the DESTINY to 0 , and his potential in the scouting screen was 'excellent'.. What destinies were you referring to?

the earlier picks need higher ratings ,Bogut 64??

It's 64 in the OVRRATING in players.dbf, but after training camp he's always 68 - 71, and that's the one that counts... Marvin Williams was about 65 - 68, Chris Paul 68 - 75 , Deron Williams 66 - 69, Andriuskevicius around 53 - 55, Taft 61-65, Vasquez 60 - 62 ... so those are fine, except maybe Chris Taft's.

Rasad Mccants and Raymond Felton are about 67, so they need toning down...

I agree with toning them down, I think I nailed that one quite OK for the few I did.

I've got a pretty good feel for destinys and dunkpackages, but I think if we all fill in those two values on the whole list, then mail it we should use the average. Unless one of us has a good and valid point for it do be something else.

Ex: Green.

I set d = 1, dkpkg = 12
Darth D sets it at d = 0, dkpkg = 12
Mark sets it at d = 2, dkpkg = 11

His rating would then be destiny = 1 (0-1-2, 1 is the median), dunkpkg = 12 ( 12-12-11, 12 is the median).

Comments?

dunkpkg = 12 ( 12-12-11, 12 is the median).

How does dunkpack work? greater number=more impressive dunks?

I'll PM Andrew and see if he can assist us with the ratings...

1: Layups from close range
2: A wider variety of layups including layups from further out
3: Layups only, suitable for less athletic players
4: Mostly layups with a one handed dunk (performed rarely)
5: Mostly layups but with basic one and two handed dunks (performed more often in the open court)
6: Mostly one handed dunks with some two handed slams
7: A few show dunks (performed rarely)
8: An assortment of one and two handed dunks, suitable for most players of average height and athletic ability
9: Dunks for more athletic players; includes gliding dunks
10: Some spectacular dunks including some more powerful dunks; good for athletic forwards
11: Some spectacular dunks including some more powerful dunks; good for athletic guards
12: Plenty of spectacular dunks; includes powerful, gliding and 360 dunks
13: Various big man dunks
14: More athletic big man dunks
15: Shaquille O'Neal Suite: Powerful one and two handed dunks
16: Air Jordan/Doctor J dunks - all dunks, including free throw line
17: Shawn Bradley/Yao Ming - dunks ideal for players over 7'2"

All from www.nba-live.com -> player.dbf-editing.

I also think scorearea should be tweaked.
