is there a dbf editing program that doesn't have a trial version, if ever?

Sir Andrew , I have a question .
I want my Knicks Team to have ( 1-1 ) Shooter A , ( 2-2 ) Shooter B , ( 3-3 ) Power PF and ( 4-4 ) Power C
as my default offensive plays .
I know that plays.dbf is the file to edit but how to make my given plays as my default offensive plays !?

You need to edit the plays columns in teams.dbf. You just need to refer to plays.dbf to see which ID numbers correspond to the plays you want to assign.

My Given 1-1 ( Shooter A ) Set is ? - - - What number does it corresponds to ?
My Given 2-2 ( Shooter B ) Set is ? - - - What number does it corresponds to ?

My Giver 4-4 ( Power C ) Set is ? - - - What number does it corresponds to ?

I don't know offhand sorry, you'd have to search in plays.dbf.

Help plz. my dynasty corrupted and im trying to import a few draft picks to another new dynasty using dbf commander! it didnt work when i transferd their records to the other dynasty and messed up the order of the draft and such in the begining of the year and the imported players dont even show up. help!thanxx plz help in detail im a noobie at this

try checking the ROSTERPOS. but i'm not sure. i've never encountered this problem

That might be one where you have to start again. Try importing one player, make sure everything's working, then repeat the process.

Maybe your trial version of db commander is expired .

You can still use the DB Commander even if its trial version has expired. Patchers only need the basic features of the Commander.

The import/transfer feature is a noteworthy feature that is disabled after the trial period expires, however.

( expecting a no answer , but I'll be surprised if you say yes ! )

example : I want to add a column in teamgear.dbf and name it sockhome ( - color of socks for home ) and sockaway ( - color of socks for away ) Can Live 08 read it ?

No. Assuming it doesn't cause the game to crash, it will simply ignore the extra field.

Hey Andrew, I got a question. How would I upload a custom team logo? For example during the team selection screen when scrolling through teams, how can I get a custom logo in there for a custom team?

You'd need to design your own team art and create a custom team to use it. You'll have to check out the other tutorials for that.

There's a tutorial on that in the 2005 section, the process remains the same for 08 as far as I know.

If you're talking about in a custom roster outside of Dynasty Mode, you need to edit the most recent entry for each in tmcareer.dbf. In NBA Live 08, that should have 2006 for the year (indicating the 2006/2007 season).

You can, but you shouldn't. Always create in-game and then edit the dbfs as necessary.
