Agreed on the meh part.

Although the bench seems to be more detailed, can you say warmup jerseys?

Lol at the final shot, Dwight looks like he's 5 years old.

They could at least try to hide the clipping in their promotional materials.

I've done my frame by frame analysis.

First the obvious good, signs, warmups, rituals, smoother animations. The passing they showed looked great.

Random thing, Dwight isnt wearing his armband in the beginning part.

Ok, now the bad that I found. First off, all (little) hype I had that this game will be the be all end all da shit basketball game is gone, this is why.

That Dwight alleyoop was just weak. Should have just stopped it at the pause effects thing and not shown the finish. Why was Shaq up past the free throw line doubling Nelson anyway?

Watch the secondary defenders in each play. They are looking in the wrong direction, doing weird animations.

Like Pietrus swiping in random air behind William's layup.

The main "person" to watch with this is Lewis right before he gets shit on by lebron. He isn't even looking at or facing up to lebrons drive. He is actually looking into the crowd, 180 degrees away from him and then turns the wrong way to go for the block.

No boxing out for rebounds.

Just little things. Im sure they improved gameplay and presentation that will let them focus on these little things for Live 11 but it looks like Live 10 will leave me wanting more from the series like it does every year.
Opinions are my own.

Yeah, that was the first thing I noticed.

They still look like robots and everything is a series of one-on-one or collapse-to-the-ball interactions.

Pretty Good.

Jao, after the Dwight hook shot, Shaq is clearly boxing him out. The transition from D to boxing out looks good and physical.

Got to agree on the weak dunks though. That Alley should have been a power dunk...... looked weak, with bad rim interaction, Vince's fall down dunk was nice.

Agreed with the help D not being aware of whats going on. And I'm trying to look to see if the shot blocking animations look reasonable this year (one of the crappiest things from last year).

Graphics although very nice look a bit shiny and plastic, but the atmosphere is a big step up.

edit: crowd looks heaps better, but one thing that frustrates me is crowd animations (such as waving towels) are all performed at the same time. It can't be that hard or memory intensive to have some sort of random offset for those sorts of things...

I see a fair bit of non preferred hand dunks/ layups. Obviously that is ok to a certain point, it it happens too much. For example, I always play as the hawks, and to see Josh Smith wind up for a right handed power dunk takes me out of the simulation basketball experience. I can remember a right handed dunk he threw down on the Celtics in the playoffs 2 seasons ago............. that's it......... ad I watch about 75 hawks games a season. There should be some sort of tendency for this. If players are on their wrong side, it should be something like:

5% dunk with non preferred hand,
40% find a way to dunk with both
40% some sort of layup instead (either hand)
15% various contextual animtions

just off the top of my head, but this frustrates me a bit.

edit: well, Mike Wang just sorted me out, over at OS:

"Actually, I promised you guys I'd get rid of it when I was at 2k... and we got close with Live 10. Guys will only dunk with their dominant hand when they go off the dribble. We weren't able to fix all the wrong hand dunking in alley-oops though (as you see in the trailer with Dwight) because of coverage reasons. But at least off the bounce it will be right."

I'm happy with that.

Yep, going through it and looking specifically for it you're right, every shot has at least 2 players fighting for position in a box out. The one i was basing my assumption off of was the mo williams shot, but there is boxing out on the far left side

ND_Raiden, there are dunks that were in Live 2004 that are still in the game.

Recycling dunks isn't a problem as long as they add new ones.

The crowd has smoother animation.
The frame cutting was annoying, I wonder if they were trying to hide something by it, especially when Dwight takes that hookshot on Shaq after the post move.
I still see some poor collision animations, like the Mo Williams one against Rashard Lewis, and the Rashard Lewis block/foul on Anderson Varejao.
The tipin layup was horrible.
Player graphics look more simple, no visible sweat, just specular.

Still looks like it will be better than 09.

This is from a real early build we don't see the facial expressions like we do of DWill8's screenshot of him passing Dwight hasn't got his Adidas kicks on then when we've seen him wear it in debut trailer and other screenshots/vids. So I expect to look more polished in future videos.

Marcus and Beluba have done some "damage control" if you will over at OS. Sweat only got added to the game this week evidently.
